This will essentially clear all of these fictional players from the game. New rosters are not on my list of reasons to buy. After releasing everybody, in the Game Settings tab at the top of the screen, there is an option to delete all free agent players. Over the years my league has morphed to fictional by attrition. After game creation, navigate to OOTP Menu > Game Setup > Player and Picture Options. During game creation, this can be found in the Player Options section of the Game Options page.
You can adjust this by tweaking the player aging modifier. I then imported my game into each new version, v4 to v22 and soon to v23. Players age in a model that is relatively consistent with modern-day baseball players. Those roster updates that come every year? I've never used one ) I started in v4 with real players. The improvements aren't always "in your face", that doesn't mean they are not there. OOTP has it all covered Play Your Way Franchise Mode: A single-player oriented mode where you can run your favorite MLB, international or fictional baseball organization. since you can't see these improvements the game must be stagnant. So many want to "not add anything new just make the under the hood stuff better". If you're into watching or playing out your games the experience grows better with each new version. Lot's more flexibility in how and where one can use these views. There are so many options added to views and filters, to sort all of that data.
As mentioned 64 bit is a nice upgrade but that isn't all. Really I wouldn't advise anyone to upgrade if you have OOTP 18 or later for any amount of money unless you absolutely have to have the latest rosters. I think everything is pretty much the same except they somehow managed to make coaching even worse than it was before, and the way coaches are handled in OOTP has always been something I really disliked.Īnd 19, 20, 21 are pretty much the same for a single player game so I just went to the one which had the most playtime and my most established league.
